The Divine Comedy; Hell - Awakening to thunder, Dante finds himself at the brink of a dark abyss filled with cries of despair. Guided by the poet Virgil, they descend into the first circle, Limbo, where souls sigh in sorrow not for sins, but for lacking baptism. Among them is Virgil himself. He recounts an influential figure (Christ) who once rescued notable souls from here. As they traverse this circle, they encounter famed poets like Homer, Horace, Ovid, and Lucan, who honorably include Dante as one of them. Dante witnesses revered figures from history, myth, and philosophy within a grand castle. However, they soon depart this peaceful realm for a stormier, darker region.
